For years, we've supplied the sizzle and the seasoning for your backyard cookouts. Now, Friendly Nick's Butcher and Old Town Spice Shop are thrilled to take it to the next level! We've joined forces with our friends at New Belgium Brewing to host a one-of-a-kind BBQ competition right here in our community.

This is where the pros meet the passion. We're creating teams composed of one local, professional chef and one amateur backyard grill-master, putting the finest cuts and boldest spices to the ultimate test.

Mark your calendars for the final showdown! The top 6 teams will be battling it out on the lawn at New Belgium Brewing on Saturday, October 4th. The coals get hot at 12 pm, kicking off an afternoon of live music, fantastic local vendors, and, of course, the most delicious BBQ you can imagine.

With our prime meats and handcrafted spice blends as their arsenal, we know these contestants will produce incredible and creative flavors. They'll be competing for top honors in:

• Most Traditional Style

• Most Unique Style

• Best Side Dish

• Judge's Choice

• People's Choice

 

So, where do you come in? You're the judge! For just $5 a sample, you can taste what each team has crafted and help us decide the winner. Come enjoy the free smells, then stay for the live music and mouthwatering meat. Help us apron the grand champion of the 2025 COMMUNITY 'CUE!

Winners will be announced every 30 minutes starting at 2 pm, with the celebration cooling off around 5 pm. We can't wait to see you there!
